Third-party certification you can trust

VegeCert is a non-profit organization that certifies vegan and vegetarian food, supplement, and personal care products for manufacturers worldwide — and has since 2012.

A Symbol of Trust

Two designations, one standard of proof

VegeCert has two certification tiers: Certified Vegan, for products that contain no animal or animal by-products, including dairy, eggs or honey; and Certified Vegetarian, for products that contain no meat, poultry, fish, seafood, or insects.

We don't simply check a list of ingredients against a standard. Our inspectors audit the manufacturing facility itself — including shared equipment and cross-contamination controls — to confirm that what's on the label matches what's happening on the line.

International Recognition

A mark recognized around the world

The VegeCert mark travels with the products it certifies — our certified companies manufacture on several continents, and the mark means the same thing everywhere it appears.

Southeast Asia

Buono Group manufactures VegeCert-certified products from Thailand; Sela Pepper Co. is certified out of Cambodia.

Europe

Tekmar Slovensko carries VegeCert certification from its facility in Slovakia.

North America

Sweets from the Earth (Canada) and Lifeway Foods (United States) are both certified under the same standard applied everywhere else.

Inside The Process

What our inspectors actually look for

Certification means our team has physically reviewed how a product is made — not just what's printed on the ingredient panel.

Production Line Review

We trace ingredients through the actual production line, not just the recipe sheet.

Labeling

Inspectors verify that product labeling is consistent with the approved formulation on file.

Shared Equipment Checks

Where machinery is shared with non-certified products, we require documented cleaning and allergen testing.
